EnerStar Board of Directors - General Information
EnerStar is proud to be a member-owned, not-for-profit electric cooperative, where our members have a direct say in our operations. Each year, our co-op membership elects a Board of Directors, comprised of nine co-op members—one from each district.

Board elections are held by mail before our Annual Meeting. Are you interested in learning more? Please get in touch with us at 1-800-635-4145 to request a petition packet. In the meantime, the co-op bylaws, approved by the co-op membership, outline the director election process and the required qualifications.

General Information Regarding the Board of Directors
The electric utility industry is complex and constantly evolving, making board service a meaningful commitment. Prospective candidates should carefully consider the time required to prepare for meetings, review detailed reports and financial statements, and attend occasional committee meetings and monthly board meetings. Directors set the cooperative’s strategic direction while thinking and acting independently in the cooperative's best interests. Ongoing education, effective communication skills, community involvement, respect for confidentiality, and awareness of potential conflicts of interest are essential. Directors receive a monthly per diem, based on a formula that encourages meeting attendance, for participation in board and committee meetings and required education.
