EnerStar Electric Cooperative is a not-for-profit electric cooperative that is governed by the members it serves.

A board of directors, who are also co-op members, are elected by the membership to manage the cooperative and ensure the cooperative delivers on its mission of providing safe and reliable electricity to members.

The board of directors is guided by the cooperative articles of incorporation and the co-op bylaws. The bylaws can only be altered, amended, or repealed by a majority vote of the cooperative membership at an Annual Meeting of Members. The last bylaws amendments were approved in June 2022.
