EnerStar Electric Cooperative is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a 2026 CoBank Sharing Success matching grant totaling $30,000. The co-op has successfully secured Sharing Success funds every year since 2012.
The Sharing Success program is intended to help cooperatives support causes and organizations that are important to the communities they serve. This year, EnerStar directed the funds toward four organizations that serve at-risk and in-need youth throughout the co-op's service territory:
- Bell Ridge - Food for Kids ($10,000)
- Chrisman Cupboard ($8,500)
- Shiloh Food Backpack Program ($8,500)
- Oakland Ministerial Association Youth Service ($3,000).
CoBank is a non-profit, cooperatively owned bank that supports rural America by providing financial services to agribusiness and rural electricity, water, and communication providers nationwide. Through Sharing Success, CoBank matches its cooperative members' charitable contributions dollar-for-dollar, helping support local non-profits across the country.
"EnerStar, as a not-for-profit electric cooperative, is guided by the seven cooperative principles, including 'Cooperation among Cooperatives' and 'Concern for Community,'" said EnerStar's Angela Griffin. "We're proud to support other non-profit organizations doing important work in our communities, and grateful to CoBank for helping us invest in the people we serve."
If you know of a worthwhile 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization that could benefit from CoBank Sharing Success, please contact the cooperative at 800-635-4145.
