During EnerStar Electric Cooperative’s annual meeting Saturday, March 21, members re-elected three board
members to three-year terms. Joining President/CEO Peter E.
Kollinger (left) are re-elected board members John Fell of
Kansas, Gene Higginbotham of Martinsville and Thomas DeWitt
of Brocton. Although Kollinger said the co-op’s electric
rates would not be going up this year, a rate study would be
conducted in 2010 and wholesale rates could go up 3.5
percent each year. He also warned that carbon tax or carbon
cap and trade legislation could add $50 to electric bills.
He urged members to contact their elected officials
through the Web site www.ourenergy.coop or to fill out cards
handed out at the meeting.
